Kuliah Tamu Pak SugionoOne lecturer of industrial engineering department at UB, Mr. Sugiono, ST., MT., Ph.D. has been a guest speaker in a lecture at North Eastern University, Shenyang – China,with topic Connecting of Human Factors and the Environmental Factors to optimize work performance by using EEG (Electroencephalography) tool on September 11, 2014. In addition, he also conducts research with title: “Investigating the impact of music and noise in the human brain performance by using EEG (Electroencephalography) tool”.

This research aims to determine the effect of music as a pleasant voice for human and influence of noise as unwanted sound by human to human thinking. Two scenarios of sound as environment factors that have been tested are:

1. Treatment with patterns: silent (no sound) – noise (traffic jam) – silence (no sound) – noise (traffic jam) – and so in the last 10 minutes.
2. Treatment with patterns: silent (no sound) – Music – noise (traffic jam) – silence (no sound) – Music – noise (traffic jam) – and so on within 15 minutes. (rndi)
