Students of Industrial Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya (TI FT-UB) made an achievement again. This time came from the Bidikmisi Intellectual Week Contest 2019 held by the Bidikmisi Student Forum Universitas Pembangunan Nasional  (UPN) “Veteran” Jakarta.

In the competition which took place on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 in the Bhineka Tunggal Ika Auditorium, the TI-UB student team won 1st place and Best Poster. The TI-UB Student Team is fronted by Yayan Adi Prastyo, Vina Dwi Novianti, and Siska Hartati Tarigan.

Yayan et al. brought a paper entitled ENVER-O (Application of Android Applications as an Effort to Clean Up Waste and Neutralize River Waste). The idea of ENVER-O stems from the desire to handle river pollution due to waste around industrial areas.

“Our concept uses IoT-based automation technology and cloud data. The function is to reduce the volume of garbage in the river, detect industrial waste, and the detected waste will be neutralized, “said team leader Yayan.

To simplify operation, the ENVER-O tool is integrated with smartphone applications through the internet network. Data storage using the cloud is related to historical use of tools such as garbage collection data, current condition data from neutralizing waste, energy sources from tools and others.

“With this tool, it will benefit for janitors because as a basis for evaluating their performance,” said the assistant of the Statistics and Quality Engineering laboratory.

Yayan said he did not expect that the team could get two awards at once. Because the other finalists also presented ideas that were no less good.

In the future the team also hopes that the concept of ENVER-O can be applied in the real world. Not forget, the team also thanked for the support from the department and faculty so they could participate in this competition.
